Mariners' Erick Mejia: Lands with M's

Mejia signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Feb. 8.

Mejia, a 27-year-old switch-hitting utility man, spent the entire 2021 campaign in the Royals organization at Triple-A Omaha, slashing .241/.313/.404 with seven home runs in 228 plate appearances. He previously saw MLB action with Kansas City in 2019 and 2020, appearing in 17 games across both seasons. He's expected to open the 2022 campaign at Triple-A Tacoma.
