Harrison was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Harrison was a key piece of the Christian Yelich trade prior to the 2018 season but is now 26 years old and has yet to find success at the big-league level. In a small sample of 62 MLB plate appearances, Harrison's hit .175/.230/.263 with a 46.8 percent strikeout rate. While he still possesses raw power and speed, it's beginning to look like he won't ever make enough contact to carve out a role in the majors, as he also struck out 39.3 percent of the time at the Triple-A level last season.
