Rivera successfully underwent Tommy John surgery Thursday, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
Rivera underwent the procedure to help repair a partially torn UCL in his right elbow. While he remains without a recovery timeline, he's expected to be sidelined into the start of next season. The 28-year-old finished his 2017 campaign with a respectable .290/.330/.430 line with five homers in 73 games.
