The 2011 season ended just a few short weeks ago, but for 30 major league teams, the focus is already on 2012.

The same should be true for your Fantasy team.

With the recent unveiling of the early position-by-position rankings, we already have a blueprint for what a 2012 draft should look like even before the first trade or free-agent signing.

So let's put it to the test. The following mock draft will play out over the next week or so, updating periodically as the 12 participants make their picks. Standard Head-to-Head rules (points, not categorical) apply, meaning every team's lineup features a C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 3 OF, U, 5 SP and 2 RP. Every team also has five bench slots, giving the draft a total of 21 rounds.

How early will Alex Gordon, Melky Cabrera and Jeff Francoeur go off the board following their unexpected success in 2011? Is Tommy John victim Adam Wainwright regarded as a Fantasy ace before he even returns to the mound? Do Adam Dunn and Justin Morneau deserve anything more than late-round fliers after the ugly numbers they put up? You'll be the first in your league to know if you simply follow along.

And just who are you following? Why, the same crazy cast of characters you can always trust to be thinking about spring in October:

1. Peter Madden, Editorial Director, Fantasy Sports
2. Jeff Tobin, Associate Managing Editor, Fantasy Sports
3. Al Melchior, Data Analyst
4. Jamey Eisenberg, Senior Fantasy Writer
5. Scott White, Fantasy Writer
6. Dave Richard, Senior Fantasy Writer
7. Michael Hurcomb, Fantasy Writer
8. Kevin Goodwin, Fantasy Writer
9. Adam Moore, Fantasy Writer
10. Ed Gauna, Fantasy Writer
11. Bill Passonno, Fantasy Writer
12. Jeff Lippman, Fantasy Writer

Picks will be made on a regular basis Monday through Friday. Keep checking back to see who's going where and get a head start on 2012.
