Mathis signed with the Padres as an undrafted free agent Sunday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

After being passed over in the truncated 2020 first-year player draft, Mathis was one of six UDFAs signed by San Diego on Sunday. The second baseman slashed .262/.368/.361 with one home run and nine RBI in 76 plate appearances with LSU this season before play was suspended.
