Suwinski's contract was selected by the Pirates on Friday.

Suwinski was traded from the Padres to the Pirates in late July, and he'll now be protected from the Rule 5 draft. The 23-year-old made 111 Double-A appearances in 2021 and hit .262 with 19 homers, 68 runs, 58 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
