The Reds optioned Lopez to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
Lopez has appeared in nine games and gone 5-for-17 with no extra-base hits and no RBI since making his MLB debut June 28. Now, he gets demoted to clear a roster spot for Sonny Gray, who was reinstated from the injured list Sunday in a corresponding move.
