Royals' Kyle Zimmer: Shut down with neck spasms

The Royals placed Zimmer on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to neck spasms, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Kansas City reinstated infielder Emmanuel Rivera (wrist) from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. Zimmer presumably experienced the neck issues during his appearance in Tuesday's 7-1 loss to the White Sox, when he walked all three batters he faced.
