Tigers' Travis Demeritte: Designated for assignment

Demeritte was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Friday.

Demeritte appeared in 18 games for the Tigers in 2020, slashing .172/.273/.207 with four RBI and 14 strikeouts over 33 plate appearances. He'll now be removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Jonathan Schoop, who was re-signed by Detroit in a corresponding move.
