The Yankees recalled McKay from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead of Sunday's doubleheader with the White Sox.
McKay was a surprise call-up minutes before Game 1 of the twin bill after the Yankees moved outfielder Joey Gallo and catcher Kyle Higashioka to the COVID-19-related injured list. The right-hander will give the Yankees another depth arm out of the bullpen after he turned in a 1.84 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB across 14.2 innings over his 11 appearances at Triple-A.
