Zach Thompson: Becomes free agent

Thompson elected to become a free agent Wednesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

The righty cleared waivers after being removed from Atlanta's 40-man roster but has decided to look for a gig elsewhere rather than accepting an outright assignment to the minors. Thompson has thrown 3.2 scoreless innings across two appearances in the majors in 2025.
