  • Owen Caissie OF | MIA

Marlins' Owen Caissie: Walks off Colorado

Caissie went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in the Marlins' 4-3 win over the Rockies on Sunday.

The lefty-hitting Caissie opened Sunday's game on the bench due to the Rockies sending southpaw Jose Quintana to the mound. Caissie entered the game in the eighth inning but had another at-bat in the ninth, and he sent Marlins fans home happy after his walk-off, two-run homer to right-center field. Through his first three games with Miami, Caissie has gone 5-for-10 with two doubles, one steal and four RBI.

  • Nathan Church OF | STL

Cardinals' Nathan Church: On bench against southpaw

Church is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Church had started against right-handed pitchers in the Cardinals' first two games of the season, going 3-for-8 with two runs and two RBI. However, with southpaw Steven Matz on the bump for the Rays in the series finale, the left-handed-hitting Church will cede left field to Thomas Saggese.

  • Rays' Richie Palacios: Awarded second straight start

Palacios will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Palacios was excluded from the lineup in Thursday's season opener against Cardinals southpaw Matthew Liberatore, but the left-handed-hitting utility player will stick in the starting nine for a second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher. Until Gavin Lux (shoulder) returns from the injured list, Palacios could be primed to fill the strong side of a platoon at second base with Ben Williamson.

  • Daulton Varsho LF | TOR

Blue Jays' Daulton Varsho: On base four times Saturday

Varsho went 2-for-4 with two walks, a run scored and an RBI in Saturday's extra-innings win over the A's.

The center fielder went 0-for-4 in the Blue Jays' opener, but Varsho had much more success Saturday even with lefty Jeffrey Springs on the bump for the A's. Varsho launched 20 homers in only 71 regular-season games in 2025, and if he can stay healthy this season he could be headed for career-best power numbers.

  • Jung Hoo Lee CF | SF

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Doubles in loss

Lee went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Yankees.

Lee shifted to the leadoff spot Saturday and doubled in the third inning before coming around to score San Francisco's lone run. He also drew a walk in the fifth. The 27-year-old outfielder has struggled to begin the campaign, going 1-for-10 with two strikeouts across three games.

  • Brewers' Christian Yelich: Resting Sunday

Yelich is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

With Milwaukee wrapping up its season-opening series with a day game and a lefty (Anthony Kay) on the hill for the White Sox, the left-handed-hitting Yelich will get a breather. William Contreras will get a day off from catching but will stick in the lineup at designated hitter in place of Yelich, who went 5-for-9 with a walk, a stolen base, three runs and two RBI in Milwaukee's first two games.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Idle Sunday

Mitchell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Mitchell has started the season strong with two hits, three walks, two stolen bases, three RBI and two runs through the Brewers' first two games, but he'll hit the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters Christian Yelich, Jake Bauers and David Hamilton as Milwaukee stocks up on extra right-handed bats to counter White Sox southpaw Anthony Kay. Blake Perkins will cover center field in Mitchell's place Sunday.

  • Jake Bauers RF | MIL

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Sitting against southpaw

Bauers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Bauers went 3-for-10 with a home run, three RBI and two additional runs through the Brewers' first two contests of the season, but the left-handed hitter will hit the bench Sunday while the White Sox send southpaw Anthony Kay to the hill. Especially while Andrew Vaughn (hand) and Jackson Chourio (hand) are both on the shelf, Bauers should have a fairly clear runway to regular playing time against right-handed pitching early on during the season.

  • Jake Meyers CF | HOU

Astros' Jake Meyers: Taking seat Sunday

Meyers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Meyers has gone 2-for-8 with a walk, a double, a stolen base, two RBI and two runs through two contests but will sit for the second time in Houston's first four games of the season. Joey Loperfido will shift to center field Sunday while Yordan Alvarez picks up a start in the outfield.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Drawing third straight start

Pereira will start in right field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Pereira will open the season with a third straight start after going 0-for-6 with a walk and five strikeouts through Chicago's first two contests. Though manager Will Venable is leaning into Pereira as the team's primary right fielder for the time being, the 24-year-old likely has a short leash and will need to start heating up at the plate to avoid moving into a bench or platoon role.
