Russell has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Russell is Minnesota's eighth player to enter the league's COVID protocols. He will join the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards on the list. As a result, Jaylen Nowell and Malik Beasley figure to handle the starting backcourt duties for the immediate future.
