The Giants designated Thomas (ankle/foot) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Though Thomas will resume practicing with the Giants on Wednesday following the team's bye week, the left tackle likely faces an uphill battle to gain clearance ahead of Monday's road matchup with the Buccaneers. Instead, the Giants will seemingly view this week as a means for Thomas to gradually increase his activities as he recovers from a right ankle sprain and left foot injury, with the team's Week 12 game Nov. 28 versus the Eagles likely representing the target for his return to the lineup.
