Ducks' John Gibson: Placed on IR

Gibson (abdomen) was designated for injured reserve Monday.

Gibson was facing an absence of 3-6 weeks, so the fact that he was placed on IR shouldn't come as a surprise. Without a veteran netminder on the roster, the Ducks claimed James Reimer off waivers Monday. Once cleared to play, Gibson will compete with Lukas Dostal for the starting job.
