Matej Chalupa: Placed on unconditional waivers

Chalupa was put on unconditional waivers by the Blackhawks for the purpose of a buyout Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Chalupa didn't get into any NHL games during his year-plus stay with the Blackhawks, but he did draw into 27 contests with AHL Rockford, picking up four goals and seven points over that span. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 23-year-old forward return to his native Czech Republic to continue his playing career.
