MacEwen wasn't given a qualifying offer by the Kings on Friday and will become an unrestricted free agent, according to John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio.
MacEwen split last season between Philadelphia and LA, picking up four goals, six assists and 66 PIM in 56 games. The 26-year-old should get another opportunity to play in the NHL as a bottom-six forward.
