Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are teeing it up at the Dubai Desert Classic this week which means all eyes will be on the European Tour for a few days.

Here's a little Q&A on what to expect from this week's tournament.

What is it?

The Dubai Desert Classic ends a three-week Middle East swing of Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Dubai. It is the ninth European Tour event of the season and the 25th anniversary of this event.

Where is it?

Emirates Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates.

When is it?

January 30- February 2, 2014

What is the purse?

$2.5 million

Tiger is playing for $2.5 million?

Plus a little under-the-table money. OK, more than a little.

Who else is playing

Rory McIlroy, John Daly, Henrik Stenson, Jamie Donaldson, Thorbjorn Olesen, Thomas Bjorn, Peter Uihlein, Brooks Koepka, Fred Couples, and Miguel Angel Jimenez.

How can I watch it?

Wednesday, Jan. 29 - Thurday, Jan. 29 -- 10:30 PM-8:30 AM on Golf Channel
Friday, Jan. 31 -- 1-8:30 AM on Golf Channel
Saturday, Feb. 1 -- 4-8 AM on Golf Channel
Sunday, Feb. 2 -- 4-8 AM on Golf Channel

All times Eastern

Who are the former champions?

2013 -- Stephen Gallacher
2012 -- Rafael Cabrera-Bello
2011 -- Alvaro Quiros
2010 -- Miguel Angel Jimenez
2009 -- Rory McIlroy
2008 -- Tiger Woods

What is Tiger's history in this tournament?

He's won it twice. In 2006 he beat Ernie Els in a playoff and in 2008 he beat Martin Kaymer by a stroke.

So who are you picking?

I'm glad you asked. Here are my picks for the Dubai Desert Classic:

Winner

Peter Uihlein (66-1) -- Finished T16 at the Qatar Masters last week and didn't shoot anything north of 70. He'll need to go low in Dubai but he's more than capable.

Missed the cut in 2012 at his only appearance at this tournament but he's come a long way since then. Also fighting for a spot in the World Match Play Championship as he's No. 66 in the world right now.

Lock for top 10

Rory McIlroy (7-2) -- Lock it down. Rory should have won Abu Dhabi if not for that ridiculous drop penalty and he seems confident right now. His last four results here: T5, T10, T6, and 1st. That'll do, Rory.

Sleeper

Steve Webster (80-1) -- Got the Qatar Masters off to a flying start with an albatross on his very first hole and ended up finishing T5 after a disappointing weekend. Also finished T7 at this tournament last season.
