Steve Stricker should be more discreet about Tiger Woods lessons
Dave Stockton Sr. told Steve Stricker to not, you know, go around talking about whom he's helping.

So we all know by now the recent dominance of Tiger Woods over the golf world is Steve Stricker's fault. Stricker infamously gave Woods a putting lesson at Doral three weeks ago that led to two Woods wins in a span of 14 days.
Dave Stockton Sr. recently told Stricker he should be a little more muted during teaching time.
According to Golf Channel, this is what Stricker said about his meeting with the elder Stockton:
[Stockton] said he experienced that same thing when he was out on Tour, that he would give some putting lessons and guys would have some success. So he did a lot of that when he was out on Tour. And he said, "What you have to do is, if you're going to help a guy is just tell the guy you never got help from me, so the word doesn't get out."
Stricker actually seemed to want to do the opposite of what Stockton was telling him. Here's what he said to Golf Channel about Woods' win at the Cadillac Championship:
We've talked putting a lot before and whether something really clicked this time for him, I don't know. I mean, he seemed happy when I left him on that Wednesday, and to throw me a bone like did he at the end of the tournament, it was very nice. He doesn't do that very often, so that was nice.
Stricker is in high demand these days, as anyone who helped Woods regain the No. 1 ranking would be.
Again, Golf Channel on Wednesday:
I've had three, four, five guys come by today and ask if they could get a putting lesson. I'm hearing it all over the place.
If he's taking numbers, can I get in line? And, is this something that I can put on my expense report?
