Padres outfielder Cameron Maybin, serving a 25-game suspension, is expected to begin playing in minor-league games in the coming days, reports U-T San Diego Saturday.
Maybin will travel to Arizona to begin working out, before heading off to what is expected to be a five-game stint at Triple-A El Paso. Maybin is eligible to return from the suspension Aug. 20.
