Eric O'Flaherty close to rehab assignment

Athletics pitcher Eric O'Flaherty is close to beginning a rehab assignment after throwing 25 pitches Tuesday, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

O'Flaherty, who was able to throw his slider Tuesday, is set to pitch two innings in his next session. He's on the 60-day disabled list while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
