Pirates closer Jason Grilli was on the mound to close out the first Pittsburgh playoff win in over 20 years Tuesday night against the Reds.
Grilli shut the door on Cincinnati's playoff hopes and put the Pirates into the National League Division Series by getting the final three outs. He struck out a batter in a 1-2-3 inning. Grilli didn't earn a save due to pitching in a 6-2 game.
The 36-year-old finished the regular season with 33 saves in 35 chances for the Pirates, which won a playoff game for the first time since 1992.
