The best swings, it has been said by sage hitting instructors, come when the batter tries to go up the middle. Chris Gimenez of the Rangers went up the middle in the fifth inning Friday night and struck figurative gold: He hit a tiebreaking home run to center field against the Orioles. He also struck a literal TV camera operator named Vic Sosa in the right shoulder.

Watch it:

Sosa barely flinched, but moments later he did what ballplayers are told not to do: He rubbed the sore spot. No, Vic, no! He was pretty stoic at the moment of truth, however:

Ouch. Later, he gritted his teeth and flexed, not unlike a body builder.

Ooh, yeah!
