Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon opted to rest Logan Morrison on Sunday against the Angels due to a lingering back injury. Morrison eventually entered the game in the 10th inning as a pinch-hitter, recording a fly out in his only at-bat.
“(Morrison) has been battling (soreness in) his back for quite some time,” McClendon said, per The News Journal. “I’ve got a chance to give him two days (off). It just makes sense with a left-hander on the mound to get him out of there.”
