Yes, he's large, but Fielder is also as durable as any player around. (US Presswire)

When Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder takes the diamond in Minnesota on Sunday afternoon -- yes, he's in the lineup -- it will mark the 159th game that he has played this season. That's the same number of games that his team will have played, too, not that this is anything new with Fielder.

He played all 162 games last season for Milwaukee. He played 161 in 2010 and all 162 in 2009. In fact, Fielder has played at least 157 games in each of his seven full-time seasons. He averages north of 160 games played per season.

A search of games played in the past seven seasons turns up some pretty durable players, but Fielder still outdoes them all.

Ichiro Suzuki plays nearly every day, but in 2009 he played only 146 games.

Robinson Cano is right with Fielder in the past six seasons (including this one). But in 2006, he played 122 games.

Dan Uggla has averaged about 156 games per season since 2006.

Fielder's teammate, Miguel Cabrera, plays nearly every day, every season, but dipped to a meager 150 in 2010.

Adrian Gonzalez is almost right with Fielder in the past seven seasons but has played in four fewer games.

Fielder is listed at 5-foot-11, 275 pounds. If you walked by him on the street and didn't know his profession, you might mistake him for someone who is out of shape. But he's in shape. He's in great shape. And he's the most durable player in baseball.
