Short reliever Mark Lowe arrived in Toronto via trade having allowed just four earned runs all season. He left the mound after his Blue Jays debut having surrendered three and was soon saddled with the defeat.
Lowe came on with a 5-4 lead and yielded a home run to Ben Zobrist, double to Lorenzo Cain, single to Eric Hosmer, single to Kendrys Morales and sacrifice fly to Alex Rios.
Two of the runs he surrendered with Seattle were scored on July 20. He has allowed four over his last nine innings pitched.
