Rockies pitcher Tyler Matzek was charged with a loss Friday, allowing three earned runs on four hits and five walks in five innings and striking out two in his team's 5-3 defeat against the Diamondbacks.
Matzek (2-7) has lost three straight appearances, with his five walks Friday representing a season high. All three runs scored on a home run in the bottom of the first inning. Matzek owns a 5.32 ERA and 39:25 K:BB ratio in 64 1/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Padres Wednesday.
