Mangum was scratched for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Yankees due to right foot discomfort.
Per Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Mangum fouled a ball off his foot during the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader but stayed in the game to finish 2-for-5 with an RBI single in a 5-3 extra-inning win. The Pirates will have an update on Mangum's status after he undergoes further tests to determine the severity of the injury. Billy Cook will take over in center field and bat ninth.

Mangum is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.
The switch-hitting Mangum has been much more effective against right-handers (104 wRC+) than lefties (83 wRC+) over his first two big-league seasons, so he'll hit the bench Monday while the Yankees send southpaw Ryan Weathers to the bump. The 30-year-old continues to produce as the Pirates' regular center fielder while Oneil Cruz (hand) is on the IL. Mangum has delivered multiple hits in three straight games, and over 21 contests since Cruz went down he's slashing .358/.388/.432 with six doubles, five steals, five RBI and 10 runs. Mangum logged his fifth multi-hit effort over 17 games in June. He's batting .375 (21-for-56) this month, though his only extra-base hits are five doubles. The outfielder has taken over a strong-side platoon role in center field in the absence of Oneil Cruz (hand), but Mangum is also regularly hitting in the bottom third of the order, which limits his upside a bit. On the season, Mangum is batting .306 with a .722 OPS, one home run, 13 RBI, 21 runs scored, seven doubles and 13 stolen bases over 176 plate appearances.

Mangum launched his first homer of the season in the second inning before giving the Pirates an 8-7 lead on an RBI single in the fifth. The Pirates placed Mangum on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain Friday, retroactive to Wednesday.
Mangum was a late scratch from Thursday's lineup due to a hamstring issue, and additional testing later revealed his injury to be a strain. He'll now be held out of action until at least May 16, and Nick Yorke will come up from Triple-A Indianapolis to replenish Pittsburgh's bench depth.
