Cardinals' Luis Gastelum: Takes fifth loss Friday
Gastelum (5-4) took the loss after allowing one run on a hit and a walk while striking out two over one inning in Friday's 8-4 loss to the Brewers.

The Cardinals tied the game in the top of the eighth, but Gastelum returned in the bottom half of the inning and allowed a single to Jackson Chourio, who would end up scoring the go-ahead run. Gastelum has given up runs in four of his last 10 appearances, but he still has posted decent numbers over that span, notably a 3.72 ERA and 10.2 K/9 across 9.2 frames. With two games left in the regular season. Gastelum has a 4.42 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 36.2 innings in 34 relief outings.

Cardinals' Luis Gastelum: Scoreless streak at Triple-A
Gastelum has put together a 19-inning scoreless streak at Triple-A Memphis and boasts a 25:2 K:BB over that stretch.
Gastelum had one rocky outing back in mid-May during which he allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, but despite that appearance he still boasts a 2.45 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB over 40.1 innings overall for Memphis. The 24-year-old right-hander sits in the low-90s with his fastball, but he's known for a devastating changeup that he's used to log a 31.2 percent strikeout rate in the minors. Gastelum is not on the Cardinals' 40-man roster, but is pushing hard for a chance to prove himself in the majors sooner rather than later.
