Making his season debut, Kremer worked rather efficiently while tossing 55 of his 80 pitches for strikes Monday. The right-hander was sharp overall, registering 15 swings and misses while fanning at least nine for the fourth time in his career. Kremer is competing with Cade Povich, who was optioned to the minor leagues earlier Monday, for Zach Eflin's (elbow) rotation spot, and Kremer might have earned another start with Baltimore ahead of his next scheduled turn this weekend versus Cleveland.

The Orioles recalled Kremer from Triple-A Norfolk and have named him their starting pitcher for Mondays' game against the Diamondbacks at Camden Yards.
In a corresponding move, the Orioles optioned Cade Povich to Triple-A, after the lefty tossed 6.2 innings of one-run ball in a win over the Giants on Sunday. With Povich at least temporarily out of the picture, Kremer looks like he'll have a clear path to an extended stay in the rotation spot that previously belonged to Zach Eflin (elbow), who underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery last week. Kremer owns a 4.26 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 12.6 K-BB% over 671.2 career innings in the majors and is coming off a strong outing his last time out with Norfolk on Wednesday, when he struck out six over 4.2 scoreless frames.

Kremer was present at Camden Yards on Sunday and could be formally recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to start Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
The right-hander was unable to win a rotation spot with the Orioles coming out of spring training, but he looks like he won't have to wait long for a promotion to the big leagues. Zach Eflin (elbow) underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery last week, but Kremer -- who accrued a 4.19 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 142:45 K:BB across 171.2 innings with the big club in 2025 -- may only be getting a spot start as Baltimore navigates a stretch of 13 games in 13 days, given that Cade Povich looked very good in his first start of the year Sunday. Kremer has performed well himself in his first two outings with Norfolk, however, covering 9.1 innings and striking out 12 while allowing three earned runs on eight hits and two walks.

The Orioles optioned Kremer to minor-league camp Saturday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Kremer gave up five earned runs over nine innings during his three Grapefruit League appearances. He was beat out for the final spot in Baltimore's rotation by Zach Eflin, who struck out 10 batters and walked one in 7.1 shutout frames this spring. Kremer has maintained a fairly consistent 4.14 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over the past three seasons for the O's, and he'll likely be the first choice to return to the majors if the big club's rotation depth is tested.

Following a clean first inning, Kremer gave up two runs in the second frame after walking the bases loaded with no outs. The 30-year-old right-hander is in the mix to be Baltimore's No. 5 starter to open the season, but he has plenty of competition this spring in Tyler Wells, Cade Povich and Brandon Young, Kremer is set to exit Orioles camp soon to pitch for Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic, per Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.

Orioles' Dean Kremer: Settles at $5.75 million

Kremer signed a one-year, $5.75 million contract with the Orioles on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Kremer made 31 appearances (29 starts) for the O's in 2025, during which he turned in a 4.19 ERA and 1.21 WHIP to go with a 142:45 K:BB across 171.2 innings. He'll be granted a $2.8 million raise during his second year of arbitration eligibility, and he's a safe bet to open the 2026 campaign in the back end of Baltimore's rotation.
Kremer (11-10) yielded one hit over 6.1 scoreless innings Tuesday, striking out four and earning a win over the Rays.
Kremer retired the first nine batters he faced before giving up a single to Chandler Simpson in the fourth inning. Kremer faced no trouble from Tampa Bay's lineup as he picked up his first quality start since Aug. 17 and his second straight win. He was tagged with a combined 13 earned runs in his final two starts of August but has since given up just two runs in his last 15 frames, lowering his season ERA from 4.52 to 4.23 in the process. Kremer is expected to end his season with a 140:44 K:BB through 168 innings.

It wasn't Kremer's sharpest outing, but he got the job done after allowing a two-run shot to Kyle Teel in the first inning. Despite striking out only four batters, Kremer racked up 16 whiffs on 97 total pitches, including eight with his splitter. However, it was the first time he issued more than two walks since July 19. Kremer is now sporting a 4.39 ERA with a 136:44 K:BB through 164 innings. He's lined up for a home start against the Rays next week.
Kremer (forearm) is slated to start Tuesday's game against the White Sox in Chicago, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Though he didn't require a stint on the injured list after departing his Sept. 5 start against the Dodgers due to forearm discomfort, Kremer had one turn in the rotation skipped and ended up missing a week and a half of action due to the injury. Fortunately, Kremer seems to have checked out fine following a bullpen session Friday, leaving the Orioles optimistic that he'll be ready to handle something close to a normal workload Tuesday. Prior to sustaining the injury, Kremer had posted a 4.86 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB in 50 innings over his nine starts since the All-Star break.
