  • White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Two hits in win Friday

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's 5-4 win over the Nationals.

With the two-hit night, Vargas pushed his average over the Mendoza line for the first time since April 10. He now has a five-game hitting streak and multiple knocks in three of those. Vargas is now slashing .209/.342/.429 with five home runs, 13 RBI, 19 runs scored, five stolen bases and a 17:16 BB:K across 111 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Homer, steal in loss

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base and three total runs scored in Wednesday's 11-7 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Vargas has hit safely in five of the last six games, going 7-for-25 (.280) with four homers and five RBI in that span. The third baseman is up to five long balls this season, and it looks like he's worked his way out of a slump that plagued him in the first half of April. Overall, he's still hitting just .193, but that comes with a .767 OPS, 12 RBI, 18 runs scored, four steals, three doubles and a triple over 102 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Pops homer in win

Vargas went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run scored and two walks in Sunday's victory over the Athletics.

Vargas contributed in Sunday's win, recording two hits, highlighted by a two-run homer off Jeffrey Springs in the second inning. The third baseman has struggled early this season, hitting .173/.315/.360 with three homers, 10 RBI and 13 runs through 21 appearances, but he has now homered twice over the past four contests after a 16-homer campaign in 2025.

  • White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Ends homer drought

Vargas went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Thursday against the Rays.

After a strong start to the season, Vargas entered Thursday's game having collected only two hits across his last 33 at-bats. However, he showed some signs of turning things around with a solo blast in the third inning, his second of the season and first since March 30. Though Vargas is hitting only .159 across 76 plate appearances to begn the campaign, he's striking out at only an 18.4 percent clip while suffering from a BABIP of .167.

  • White Sox's Miguel Vargas: On base four times in win

Vargas went 2-for-2 with two walks, two doubles, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jays.

The third baseman was a constant thorn in the side of Toronto pitching as he continued an impressive start to the season. Through eight games, Vargas is batting .280 (7-for-25) with three doubles, a homer, six RBI, eight runs and a surprising three steals -- already halfway to the career-high six he swiped in 2025.

  • White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Racks up career-high six RBI

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a home run, six RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 9-4 win over the Marlins.

Vargas piled up a career-high six RBI, also blasting his first homer of the campaign. The infielder led off Monday for the first time this season and has also hit third in another contest this year, and he'll likely need maintain a spot high in the batting order to boost his fantasy upside in a fairly lackluster White sox lineup.

  • White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Not in Saturday's lineup

Vargas is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Brewers on Saturday.

Vargas will take a seat after going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and a walk during Thursday's regular-season opener. Colson Montgomery will shift to third base while Luisangel Acuna starts at shortstop.

  • White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Set to play third base

Vargas is set to serve as the everyday third baseman for the White Sox in 2026, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Vargas earned a nearly full allotment of plate appearances for the first time in 2025, but he split his defensive responsibilities fairly evenly between first and third base. With Munetaka Murakami (fatigue) expected to serve as the White Sox's first baseman in 2026, Vargas will have a more stable defensive home. Vargas believes the stability could help him hit better as well, as he'll look to improve on his .234/.316/.401 line across 569 plate appearances in 2025.
