LOOK: Paul Pierce gets philosophical about his nickname
A tweet from Paul Pierce shows why "The Truth" is the perfect nickname for him.

Shaquille O'Neal truly blessed Paul Pierce when he called him "The Truth." Throughout his career, Pierce has lived up to his nickname and unfortunately for the Toronto Raptors it has come at their expense over the last two years.
So far in the Wizards first round series against the Raptors, Pierce has said that Toronto doesn't have "it" and then proceeded to take over in Game 1 despite the earlier comments of Raptors GM Masai Ujiri. After Game 2, Pierce made it known that he didn't want to return to Toronto and wanted the Wizards to end the series in Washington. Then last night in Game, after nailing a dagger-three to give the Wizards a 3-0 series lead against the Raptors, Pierce loudly exclaimed, "That's why I'm here!"
While this is all excellent villainous work by Pierce, this morning he decided to up the ante:

Pierce quoting the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer confirms yet again that "The Truth" is just the perfect nickname for him.
Expect more of Pierce's devious work in Game 4 tomorrow night.
