The Journal-Times reports that the Nuggets are dicussing amenstying Chris 'Birdman' Andersen and his 2-year, $9 million contract.
Andersen signed a five-year, $26 million contract with the Nuggets in 2009 as he helped lead the team to its best years of the Melo era. But his abilities have detoriated over the past several years and he was a regular DNP-CD in the playoffs.
Fox Sports Florida's Chris Tomasson reports that prosecutors may not charge Andersen after his home was searched in May by police in connection with an investigation by the Douglas County sheriff's office's Crimes Against Children division. Andersen's attorney claimed afterwards that the investigation was the result of an extortion plot by a female fan. Tomasson also reports that Anderson is expected to be amnestied on Tuesday night.
Andersen averaged 5 points and 5 rebounds in 32 games for Denver last season.
