NBA commissioner Adam Silver visited the Late Show With David Letterman on Monday night and talked about a number of things, including raising the basket to make it harder quarter  by quarter. The commissioner was kind enough to humor Dave's wacky ideas.

When asked about James Dolan's email to a fan which was pretty gross but that Silver elected not to fine the Knicks owner over, Silver deadpanned fake-awkwardly:

"... Yeah, we talk ... He's got a lot of passion!"

Silver also talked about Phil Jackson's tenure with the Knicks and New York being on track.

"New York should be the hub for baseball and basketball in this country. Can you do something about that?" Letterman pleaded with Silver, before just coming out and begging.

"Please, do something about the Knicks."

Great stuff.

Silver also talked about what it was like going through the Donald Sterling saga last year, including when he first heard about it and what the first 24 hours were like of the crisis.
