  • Lakers' Alex Len: Retreats to bench

Len won't start Sunday's game against the Suns, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports. With Jaxson Hayes (knee) sidelined, Len drew three straight starts but failed to make an impact, totaling four points, 10 rebounds and four assists in 44 minutes. Len wasn't part of the regular rotation before Hayes' injury, but the former should have a role Sunday, as Trey Jemison (illness) is sidelined.

  • Lakers' Alex Len: Fails to score in start

Len closed with zero points (0-1 FG), two rebounds, two assists and one block in 13 minutes during Monday's 111-108 loss to the Nets. Len moved into the starting lineup, replacing Jaxson Hayes, who was ruled out with a knee injury. Despite the promotion, Len offered very little in terms of tangible production, failing to score for the fourth consecutive game. Having suited up only twice in the past eight games, Len's role appears to be on a knife's edge, typically resulting in very little playing time, if any.

  • Lakers' Alex Len: Starting sans Hayes

Len will start in Monday's game against Brooklyn, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. The veteran big man will supplant Jarred Vanderbilt in the starting five due to Jaxson Hayes (knee) being sidelined. Vanderbilt drew the start at center during Saturday's loss to Boston, though Len will join the first unit against the Nets after receiving a DNP via coach's decision in each of the Lakers' last two outings.

  • Lakers' Alex Len: Enters rotation in win

Len supplied one rebound across three minutes during Saturday's 123-100 win over the Nuggets. Len was back in the rotation, albeit for a short stint during garbage time. After playing 22 minutes in his first appearance for the Lakers, Len has since faded into obscurity. At this point, it appears he will only be used in emergencies or when an opponent requires the Lakers to deploy size in their rotation.

  • Lakers' Alex Len: Available Wednesday

Len is available for and will play in Wednesday's game against the Jazz, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. Len signed with the Lakers on Tuesday and will be active for Wednesday's contest. He'll compete with Jaxson Hayes and Trey Jemison for center minutes the rest of the season. In 36 appearances with the Kings during 2024-25, Len averaged 1.4 points and 1.8 rebounds across 7.2 minutes.

  • Lakers' Alex Len: Set to sign with Lakers

Shams Charania of ESPN reported Tuesday that Len will sign with the Lakers. Len signed a one-year, $3.31 million deal with the Kings in July of 2024, but he played only 7.2 minutes per game while serving in a rotational role at center. He was traded by Sacramento last Thursday to Washington and was subsequently waived. Earlier reports indicated that he would ink a deal with the Pacers for the rest of the season, but Len will instead head to Los Angeles to play alongside LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. With the Lakers' trade for Mark Williams being rescinded Saturday, Len should see some meaningful minutes off the bench as the backup center behind Jaxson Hayes.

  • Alex Len: Won't sign with Indiana

The Pacers will not sign Len to a deal, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports. Len was expected to sign a one-year pact with the Pacers upon clearing waivers; however, he will remain a free agent for the time being. The big man was traded from the Kings to the Wizards before having been waived by Washington on Saturday. The 31-year-old is a candidate to latch on with a team lacking depth in the frontcourt.

  • Alex Len: Will be waived, sign with Pacers

The Wizards are expected to waive Len on Saturday, and the center is expected to sign a one-year deal with Indiana upon clearing waivers, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Washington acquired Len on Thursday in a three-team deal involving the Kings and Grizzlies, but the Wizards never had any plans of keeping the journeyman center in the fold. Assuming Len clears waivers, he'll add depth to a Pacers frontcourt that includes Myles Turner (neck) and Thomas Bryant. Len didn't see much playing time in Sacramento prior to being traded, averaging 1.4 points and 1.8 boards in 7.2 minutes per game over 36 appearances. Since he'll likely be behind both Turner on Bryant on the center depth chart in Indiana, Len will presumably find himself outside of the rotation in most games.

  • Wizards' Alex Len: Won't play Friday

Len (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Cavaliers. Len will have to wait to make his Wizards debut after being traded to Washington on Thursday. The big man will likely compete for playing time off the bench behind rookie center Alex Sarr (ankle), and Len's next chance to feature will come Saturday against the Hawks.

  • Wizards' Alex Len: Landing with Washington

The Wizards are acquiring Len from the Kings as part of the three-team trade centered around Marcus Smart, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports. With the Wizards also dealing Jonas Valanciunas and Marvin Bagley ahead of Thursday's deadline, Len is set to compete with Richaun Holmes and Tristan Vukcevic for backup center minutes behind rookie Alex Sarr (ankle). However, Len played just 7.2 minutes per game over 36 appearances (three starts) with Sacramento this season, so his addition is unlikely to cause major waves in Washington's rotation.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Fails to score in victory

Len produced one rebound across five minutes during Monday's 110-96 win over the Nets. Len failed to score for the third straight game, continuing what has been another disappointing season. At this point, he is not an every-night part of the rotation, having played a combined 14 minutes in the past four games. With averages of just 1.6 points and 1.9 rebounds, the outlook is far from positive.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Won't start Saturday

Len is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Lakers. Interim head coach Doug Christie announced he won't change the starting lineup for his debut, so Len will head back to the bench due to the return of Domantas Sabonis (illness). Len is averaging 7.2 minutes per game across 23 games (three starts), so he's not likely to affect many fantasy decisions regardless of his role.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Moving into starting five

Len will start Thursday's game against the Pistons at center, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Len will enter the starting lineup for the third time with season while Domantas Sabonis (illness) sits out Thursday evening. Len's last start dates back to Nov. 18 against the Hawks, when he logged two points, three rebounds, one assist and three blocks over 17 minutes.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Back in rotation Friday

Len totaled two points (1-2 FG) and one assist in four minutes during Friday's 140-113 win over the Spurs. Len was back in the rotation, albeit for just four minutes. Domantas Sabonis was forced to the locker room with a facial injury, meaning Len was called upon early in the contest. Sabonis was able to return to the court quite quickly, bringing Len's night to an end. Given he has played a total of just 15 minutes in the past two weeks, it is clear Len is on the outside looking in when it comes to regular rotation minutes.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Back to bench Friday

Len is not in the Kings' starting lineup for Friday's game against the Clippers, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports. Len made his second start of the regular season Monday against the Hawks and finished with two points, three rebounds, one assist and three blocks over 17 minutes. Len will retreat to the bench Friday as Domantas Sabonis (back) returns from a two-game absence.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Returning to starting five

Len is starting Monday's game against the Hawks, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. Len will join the first unit for the second time in three games while Domantas Sabonis (back) and DeMar DeRozan (back) continue to work their way back from injuries. Len started Friday night's game against the Timberwolves but finished with only two points and one rebound in nine minutes.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Back to bench Saturday

Len is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Utah. Len is back on the bench for the second half of this back-to-back set, as Trey Lyles will get the nod at center. Len posted just two points and one rebound in nine minutes in Friday's loss to Minnesota.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Starting Friday

Len is in the Kings' starting lineup for Friday's game against Minnesota, Matt George of ABC 10 Sacramento reports. Len will make his first start of the 2024-25 regular season Friday due to DeMar DeRozan being sidelined with lower back tightness. Len has averaged just 7.4 minutes per game this season, so Friday's contest will give the 2013 first-round pick an opportunity to earn a bigger role in the Kings' rotation.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Swats four shots off bench

Len amassed three points (1-1 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and four blocks over 14 minutes during Wednesday's 122-107 win over the Raptors. Len continues to receive depth minutes in Sacramento's frontcourt. Against Toronto, the veteran big man was able to record season highs in rebounds and blocks. Len is averaging 1.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 assists in 8.7 minutes across six appearances this season.

  • Kings' Alex Len: Sticking in Sacramento

Len agreed Sunday with the Kings on a one-year, $3.3 million contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Len will return for a fourth consecutive season in Sacramento and will be sticking around at a similar salary figure after earning $3.2 million in 2023-24. He'll slot in as a backup to starting center Domantas Sabonis, though Len won't necessarily be included in the rotation in every game if opposing teams lean more heavily on small-ball lineups. Over his 48 appearances last season, Len averaged 2.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 9.3 minutes per game.
