Top Jazz News

  • Jazz's Kennedy Chandler: Solid bench contribution in defeat

Chandler registered 11 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and eight assists across 24 minutes during Saturday's 134-109 loss to the Suns.

Chandler had an opportunity to shine thanks to uninspired performances from Elijah Harkless and Cody Williams. After failing to catch on with Memphis last season, Chandler has found his way into a role with Utah's parent club due to the injuries throughout the Jazz roster. He's averaged 14.5 points and an encouraging 7.2 assists over five games, and he may play his way into a full-time contract next season if he keeps putting up solid numbers.

  • Jazz's Brice Sensabaugh: Pops for 26 points in loss

Sensabaugh ended with 26 points (11-21 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes during Saturday's 134-109 loss to the Suns.

Sensabaugh has made the most of his opportunities during Utah's rash of injuries despite missing a few games over the past couple of weeks. The Ohio State product has logged seven starts this month despite spending most of the season stuck on the depth chart behind Lauri Markkanen (hip) and Ace Bailey. The short-handed situation has significantly heightened Sensabaugh's profile, and he'll likely keep up the production as the season comes to a close.

  • Jazz's Kyle Filipowski: Flirts with double-double in defeat

Filipowski notched 26 points (10-14 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in 29 minutes during Saturday's 134-109 loss to the Suns.

Filipowski fell one rebound shy of a double-double and proved to be one of Utah's only bright spots in the crushing defeat. The Jazz are woefully short-handed, but Filipowski has been a consistent presence following Jusuf Nurkic's (nose) season-ending injury. The door is wide open for the second-year pro to post solid numbers despite the team's fortunes, and he is on the inside track for the starting job at center next season.

  • Jazz's Blake Hinson: Remaining out Saturday

Hinson (two-way) is listed as out for Saturday's game against the Suns.

The two-way player will sit out for the second straight game and for the fourth time in the last five games while the Jazz look to manage his availability for the rest of the season. After Saturday's contest, Hinson will be eligible to suit up in four of the Jazz's remaining seven games.

  • Jazz's Keyonte George: Still sidelined Saturday

George (hamstring) is listed as out for Saturday's game in Phoenix.

George has missed the last eight games, and it's anyone's guess regarding his availability moving ahead. With Isaiah Collier (hamstring) also out, Cody Williams and Elijah Harkless will presumably continue handling most of the work in the backcourt. Kennedy Chandler and Bez Mbeng should also remain in line for more minutes from off the bench.

  • Jazz's Isaiah Collier: Not playing Saturday

Collier (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Suns.

Collier will miss a sixth straight game due to a left hamstring injury. His next chance to play is Monday against the Cavaliers, but the Jazz have not provided a medical update for the second-year point guard in quite some time.

  • Jazz's Cody Williams: Another 24-point effort in loss

Williams amassed 24 points (9-14 FG, 6-7 FT), seven assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Friday's 135-129 loss to the Nuggets.

Williams has posted 24 points in back-to-back games for the Jazz, but Utah suffered losses in both contests. Still, the uptick in performances from the second-year forward out of Colorado is worth highlighting. He has scored in double digits in all but one of his last 11 games, averaging 17.6 points per game in that stretch, but things have been even better in recent weeks. Williams has scored at least 23 points in four of his last six games, and he seems to be growing in confidence with each passing game. This is clearly a promising end of the season for the former first-round pick, who could be a worthy addition for the fantasy playoffs if he's still available on the wire.

  • Jazz's Ace Bailey: Scores 15 points again

Bailey registered 15 points (7-14 FG, 1-7 3Pt), seven rebounds and one assist across 27 minutes during Friday's 135-129 loss to the Nuggets.

The rookie out of Rutgers struggled with his three-point shot, but he was nearly automatic with his two-point attempts. Inconsistencies and ups and downs are going to be part of Bailey's game early on, but he has shown flashes of his scoring potential. He's reached the 15-point mark in six games in a row and is now averaging a solid line of 18.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game since the All-Star break.

  • Jazz's Kyle Filipowski: Scores 25 in return

Filipowski amassed 25 points (11-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds and five assists in 25 minutes during Friday's 135-129 loss to the Nuggets.

Filipowski returned to the court after a one-game absence and delivered an impressive performance, finishing just two boards shy of a double-double and notching his first outing with 20-plus points since the All-Star break. This 25-point output matched his season-high mark, and the former Duke standout could be in line for a big role in the final weeks of the season due to the lack of frontcourt options available on Utah's roster. Filipowski is thus a player worth targeting by fantasy managers down the stretch of the regular season.

  • Jazz's Brice Sensabaugh: Starting versus Denver

Sensabaugh will start in Friday's game versus Denver.

Sensabaugh didn't start in his previous appearance before he got the night off for Wednesday's 133-110 loss to the Wizards. However, he will be back with the first five, sending John Konchar to the bench. Sensabaugh has started 15 times during the campaign, averaging 19.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.7 steals in those appearances.

  • Jazz's John Konchar: Not starting Friday

Konchar won't start Friday's game against the Nuggets.

Konchar started Utah's last two outings but will retreat to the second unit Friday. The 30-year-old forward has averaged 4.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 21.2 minutes per contest over his last five outings off the bench.

  • Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Heading to bench

Mbeng will come off the bench for Friday's game in Denver.

Brice Sensabaugh is back from his rest day and starting, so Mbeng will shift back to the second unit. As a reserve this season, Mbeng owns averages of 2.8 points, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

  • Jazz's Kyle Filipowski: Will play Friday

Filipowski (illness) is available for Friday's game versus Denver.

Filipowski will shed his probable tag and is set to return from a one-game absence. With this news, Oscar Tshiebwe is likely to be less involved in the frontcourt for Utah.

... See More ... See Less
  • Jazz's Blake Hinson: Sitting out Friday

Hinson (two-way) is listed out for Friday's game in Denver.

The Jazz will hold Hinson out for the front end of their back-to-back set while his availability at the NBA level remains limited due to his status as a two-way player. After Friday, Hinson will be eligible to suit up for four of Utah's remaining eight contests.

... See More ... See Less
  • Jazz's Isaiah Collier: Out again Friday

Collier (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's game in Denver, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.

Collier will miss a fifth consecutive game due to left hamstring injury management, and the Jazz haven't provided a clear update regarding where the second-year point guard stands in his recovery. Given that Friday's contest is the front end of a back-to-back set for the Jazz, fantasy managers should prepare for Collier to remain out for Saturday's game in Phoenix.

... See More ... See Less
  • Jazz's Brice Sensabaugh: Not listed on injury report

Sensabaugh (rest) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Friday's game in Denver, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.

Sensabaugh is set to return from a rest day, which could translate to fewer minutes for John Konchar and Bez Mbeng. Through 10 games in March, Sensabaugh has averaged 21.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.9 triples and 1.0 steals per game on 47/37/85 shooting splits.
