Jazz's Keyonte George: Third-year option exercised
The Jazz exercised the third-year option on George's rookie contract Monday.
This allows Utah to keep George under team control through the 2025-26 regular season. He entered the starting lineup late in the 2023-24 regular season due to injuries to Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson. Over his final 28 starts, George averaged 15.8 points, 4.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds across 31.4 minutes per game. George is expected to run with the first unit with Sexton while Clarkson serves in a sixth-man role.

Jazz's Keyonte George: Excels in backcourt during win
George produced 24 points (7-14 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five assists, three rebounds and a blocked shot across 29 minutes during Tuesday's 117-114 preseason win over the Kings.
George assumed a lot of responsibility late in the season when Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson both went down with injuries, but the rookie responded well. Even with Sexton and Clarkson full healthy, George is projected to run with the first unit, relegating Clarkson to the sixth-man role that has become his hallmark. The second-year player still needs to improve his shot efficiency and show up more on defense, but he has all the tools to succeed alongside Sexton in the backcourt.

Jazz's Keyonte George: Gets start in return
George (knee/rest) will start in Tuesday's preseason matchup against the Kings, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.

Jazz's Keyonte George: Won't return Thursday

George generated 31 points (9-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 11-12 FT), five assists and two rebounds across 31 minutes in Wednesday's 93-85 win over the 76ers in Salt Lake City Summer League.
George has scored at least 30 points in both Summer League games he's played in Salt Lake, but he needed only 15 shots to reach the milestone Wednesday after going 5-for-21 from the field in Utah's Summer League opener. George has totaled nine assists over his two appearances.

Jazz's Keyonte George: Drops 30 points in win
George finished with 30 points (5-21 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 17-19 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Monday's 97-95 win over the Grizzlies in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
It was an ugly shooting night for George, who scored 17 of his 30 points from the charity stripe. However, he led his squad in scoring and came through when his team needed him most by drilling a pair of free throws to reach the target score in overtime. The Baylor product saw his fair share of chances Monday evening, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see more opportunities for his younger teammates like Isaiah Collier, Max Abmas and Jason Preston on Tuesday against the Thunder.
