Jazz's Isaiah Collier: Won't play in opener
Collier won't play in Wednesday's regular-season opener versus the Grizzlies due to a right hamstring strain, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Collier suffered the injury during the preseason and missed the club's final two matchups. The rookie is set to be reevaluated this week, and he could return as soon as Friday against the Warriors. If Collier misses additional time, Patty Mills and Svi Mykhailiuk are candidates for extra playing time in the backcourt.

Collier will miss the remainder of the preseason after an MRI on Monday revealed a right hamstring strain, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.
Collier is expected to be re-evaluated in 10 days, making him questionable at best for Opening Night against the Grizzlies on Oct. 23. With Collier missing the final two preseason contests, more minutes could be available for Collin Sexton, Johnny Juzang and Svi Mykhailiuk.

Jazz's Isaiah Collier: Won't return Saturday
Collier sustained a right hamstring injury during Saturday's preseason game against the Spurs and will not return.
Collier left the game in the second quarter, and the severity of his injury is unknown. The 20-year-old's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday against the Kings. Collin Sexton, Johnny Juzang and Svi Mykhailiuk will likely pick up the slack the rest of the way in the backcourt.

Jazz's Isaiah Collier: Enters starting five Saturday
Collier will get the start in Saturday's preseason game against the Spurs, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
With Keyonte George (knee) out, Collier will take his spot in the starting five Saturday. The 20-year-old is expected to play a prominent role off the bench this season after logging an impressive year at USC, during which he averaged 16.3 points, 4.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals across 30.0 minutes per game in 27 regular-season outings.

Jazz's Isaiah Collier: Solid showing vs. Grizz
Collier recorded 14 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, six assists and three steals across 29 minutes during Monday's 97-95 win over Memphis in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
Collier looked sharp off the bench in this one as he drilled a pair of triples and led the reserves in scoring. He also showcased his ability elsewhere by dishing out a team-high six assists while holding his own on the defensive end. Collier's performance Monday evening was a promising first step for the rookie, and he figures to see plenty of chances to shine as Summer League action rolls on.

Jazz's Isaiah Collier: Goes No. 29 to Jazz
Collier was selected by the Jazz with the No. 29 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Collier was a consensus top-five recruit coming out of high school. Despite averaging 16.3 points, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game as a freshman at USC, he fell to the back end of the first round of the draft. Collier has an excellent frame and excels at getting downhill and finishing through contact. While he's a good passer, he had some issues with turnovers last season and has never been a strong three-point shooter. Still, on a Jazz team in the early stages of a rebuild, Collier should compete for minutes right away. If he can prove trustworthy as a facilitator, Collier could even emerge as the preferred point guard in Utah considering the question marks around Keyonte George's ability to play the one.
