After Sam Bradford suffered a season-ending injury in the preseason, the Rams also lost backup Shaun Hill last week to a thigh injury.

All of which means that St. Louis reportedly is expecting to start Austin Davis on Sunday vs. the Buccaneers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Hill, though, apparently will get the opportunity to test himself in pregame warmups to see if he can play.

Davis, an undrafted free agent from 2012 out of Southern Miss, is in his third season, and last week after Hill had to leave the game, he completed 16 of 23 passes for 192 yards and an interception to record a 76.7 quarterback rating in the Rams' 34-6 loss to Minnesota.

"(Hill is) probably a game-time decision," Fisher said this week. "We got Austin some reps and Austin is much better suited to play this game this week because of the starter reps he took this week, so we’ll see what happens."

Hill was in uniform for Friday's practice, but Davis reportedly took most of the reps. Another option for St. Louis: former Texans quarterback Case Keenum, who started eight games last season for Houston but who also lost all of them, also is on the roster.
