Stephen Davis made three Pro Bowls in his 11-year career as a running back for the Redskins, Panthers and Rams. On Wednesday, the 38-year-old Davis was arrested for allegedly not paying taxes on the nightclub that he owns.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Davis has been charged with operating his Columbia, S.C., business without a license and with three counts of writing fraudulent checks.
If convicted, Davis faces up to 30 days in prison and a $200 fine.
A few months ago, Davis talked about how he’s worried about the memory loss that he has suffered since he retired in 2006.
“Looking at the results, and they're not that good,” Davis said, referring to findings discovered by his neurologist. “I need to get special treatment, further treatment to try and get it taken care of.
“A lot of things scare me a whole lot, and it bothers me because there isn't no telling what day I'll forget everything.”
