Dolphins' David Rivers: Signs with Dolphins
Rivers agreed to a deal with the Dolphins on Tuesday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Rivers spent the majority of his first two seasons in the league on the Buccaneers' practice squad but did suit up for three games along the way. While the Dolphins will give him a look during training camp, he will presumably need to make an impression if he wants an opportunity to land on the team's 53-man roster.

The 24-year-old has one regular-season NFL appearance on his resume, which came with Tampa Bay in 2017.

Rivers (hamstring) was waived by the Buccaneers on Wednesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

David Rivers: Signs with Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers signed Rivers to a contract Wednesday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
The Buccaneers poached Rivers from the Dolphins' practice squad to add depth in the secondary after cornerback Vernon Hargreaves (hamstring) and safety Justin Evans (ankle) were placed on injured reserve. It's expected that the undrafted rookie out of Youngstown State will see most of his action on special teams -- if he plays at all -- in the Buccaneers' final two games.

Packers' David Rivers: Placed on injured reserve
Rivers (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.
Rivers had been waived Wednesday but subsequently cleared waivers and thus reverted to injured reserve. While he may seem like a long shot to be the Packers' lone activation from IR this season, keep in mind that fellow undrafted corner Makinton Dorleant (knee) was given that honor in 2016.
