Michael Clark: Retiring from football
Clark informed the Packers on Wednesday that he will retire from professional football, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
Clark didn't report to training camp, but it wasn't known that he was considering stepping away from the game. The wideout will end his career with only four catches and 41 receiving yards to his name, but at 6-foot-6 and 217 pounds, Clark's size made him a promising prospect.

Packers' Michael Clark: Nursing ankle injury
Clark was absent from OTAs on Monday due to an ankle injury, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
Clark is expected to serve as a depth option in the passing game in 2018 after getting his contract tendered by the Packers back in March, but if the ankle injury is going to affect his availability for a good portion of the offseason, it could have an impact on his standing on the team's roster. The Packers have a few more days of OTAs before the start of mandatory minicamp.

Packers' Michael Clark: Tendered by Green Bay
The Packers tendered Clark's contract on Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
As an exclusive rights free agent, Clark will be back in Green Bay in 2018. The young wideout showed flashes of talent late last season, making him somewhat of a priority keepsake this offseason. While it's unclear as of what role Clark will have once September rolls around, the Packers will be playing the roster merry-go-round which could clear things up by the end of the month.

Packers' Michael Clark: Gets chance late in season
Clark caught one pass for five yards in the Packers' Week 17 loss to the Lions and finished his rookie season with four receptions for 41 yards over two games.
Clark spent most of the year on the practice squad, but he got a chance to see some run late in the season thanks to injuries to his fellow receivers. The Packers like his size and athleticism, but he has minimal experience playing football after spending most of college playing basketball, so he is going to have some refining to do if he hopes to play a bigger role in his sophomore season.

Packers' Michael Clark: Likely to start
Clark figures to handle a significant role with Jordy Nelson (shoulder) and Davante Adams (concussion) ruled out for Sunday's game in Detroit, Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
A 6-foot-6 undrafted rookie, Clark spent most of the season on the practice squad and was called up to the active roster Dec. 1. He unexpectedly drew nine targets in last week's 16-0 loss to the Vikings, finishing with three catches for 36 yards in an ugly Brett Hundley start. The Green Bay passing game gets a more manageable matchup this week, with Clark and Geronimo Allison (illness) likely flanking slot man Randall Cobb in three-wide formations. None of the trio is a sure thing for target volume or production, as Adams is the only Green Bay pass catcher who's shown any ability to put up decent stats with Hundley under center.
