Patriots' Ochaun Mathis: Signed to Pats' active roster
The Patriots signed Mathis from the practice squad to the active roster Tuesday.
Mathis began the regular season on the Patriots' practice squad and, after being elevated three times, he will continue to play in New England while on the 53-man active roster. The 2023 sixth-round pick has played 43 snaps (four on defense, 39 on special teams) across his three regular-season outings and has registered one solo tackle over that span.

Rams' Ochaun Mathis: Lands on IR
The Rams placed Mathis (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Mathis was not moved to IR until after final roster cuts in order to give him the ability to return later in the year. When healthy, he is projected to provide depth at outside linebacker. The rookie was selected by the Rams in the sixth round of this past year's draft.

Rams' Ochaun Mathis: Dealing with knee injury
Mathis will miss a few weeks of training camp after suffering a knee injury, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Mathis suffered a leg injury during training camp July 31 that has since been specified to his knee. The 24-year-old has been sidelined since then, but his current recovery timeline makes it seem like he avoided a serious injury. Once the 2023 sixth-round pick is healthy again, he will compete for a rotational spot as an edge rusher for a Los Angeles team that released Leonard Floyd this offseason.

Rams' Ochaun Mathis: Carted off Monday
Mathis (leg) was carted off the practice field Monday, The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue reports.
Mathis was limping after a play, grabbed at his left leg, and then required a cart to the locker room after meeting with the training staff. A sixth-round pick back in April, Mathis is competing for reps in a wide-open edge rushing group for the Rams after Leonard Floyd was released earlier in the offseason.

Rams' Ochaun Mathis: Brings athleticism to LA
The Rams selected Mathis in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, 189th overall.
Mathis spent the majority of his collegiate career at TCU but transferred to Nebraska for his final year. He peaked with nine sacks in 2020 and also earned second-team Big-12 honors on two occasions. Mathis has good jump off the snap, and he has the physical tools to succeed as a pro. To secure a roster spot with the Rams, he'll need to improve his technique and consistency.
