Giants' Tae Crowder: Heads to IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Giants placed Crowder (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.

Days after recording a career-high 10 tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown against Washington, Crowder will be shut down for three weeks due to a hamstring injury. He'll be eligible to return Week 10 versus the Eagles, but he may return to a reserve role if both David Mayo and Blake Martinez stay healthy.

Giants' Tae Crowder: Scores game-winning TD
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Crowder had 10 tackles (six solo) and returned a fumble for a touchdown during Sunday's 20-19 win over Washington.

The 10 tackles was a strong performance by itself, but the 23-year-old also recovered a fumble and returned in 43 yards for a touchdown to give the Giants a 20-13 lead with less than four minutes remaining in the game. The return of David Mayo from injured reserve did little to impact Crowder's playing time, as he still played 85 percent of defensive snaps.

Giants' Tae Crowder: Elevates to full practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Crowder (hamstring) was a full participant for Wednesday's practice, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

Crowder failed to suit up in Monday's game against the Steelers with the hamstring issue but he logged his first full practice session of the season. Now healthy, the rookie seventh-rounder should assume a depth role at linebacker for Sunday's game against Chicago.

Giants' Tae Crowder: Inactive for Week 1
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Crowder (hamstring) is inactive for Monday's game versus the Steelers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Crowder was limited during practice all week but couldn't shake off his hamstring injury. It's unclear what role Crowder will have once he's healthy, but the Giants could have a decent amount of faith in the rookie seventh-rounder since they cut LB Ryan Connelly, who began the 2019 season as a starting linebacker.

Giants' Tae Crowder: Final pick of 2020 draft
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Giants selected Crowder with the last pick of the seventh round in the 2020 NFL Draft, 255th overall.

Crowder's path to this moment is unique. He enrolled at Georgia as a running back but was buried on the depth chart behind a slew of future NFL talent. Crowder transitioned to inside linebacker and became a starter for one of the best defenses in college football. He racked up 62 tackles -- including four tackles for loss -- as a senior. For a player that switched sides of the football, Crowder has a surprising amount of polish and instinct at linebacker. It'll be an uphill battle for him to crack the 53-man roster, but Crowder has a chance.
