  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Practicing with club

Wotherspoon (rest) took part in Thursday's practice session, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports. Wotherspoon sat out two of the Penguins' last three contests while resting up for the playoffs. The 28-year-old defenseman has put together a career year for the Penguins, producing personal bests in games (80), goals (three) and assists (27). While Wotherspoon shouldn't be considered an offensive stud, 30 points would be welcome production for a low-end option.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Sitting out Tuesday

Wotherspoon (rest) isn't projected to play versus the Blues on Tuesday, according to Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports. Wotherspoon will sit out Pittsburgh's regular-season finale for some additional rest ahead of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has generated three goals, 30 points, 70 shots on net, 113 blocked shots and 163 hits across 80 appearances in 2025-26.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Unavailable Saturday

Wotherspoon (upper body) will not dress versus Washington on Saturday. Wotherspoon has been productive offensively this season, tallying three goals and 27 assists in 79 games. He has 161 hits and 110 blocked shots, making him fantasy relevant in multi-category leagues. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Adds pair of helpers

Wotherspoon notched two assists, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 8-3 win over the Islanders. Wotherspoon has nine helpers over his last nine contests. The 28-year-old has made the most of his recent top-four usage, though his fantasy value is still limited to deeper formats. He's at 29 points, 64 shots on net, 152 hits, 107 blocked shots, 48 PIM and a plus-16 rating over 74 games this season.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Registers two assists

Wotherspoon posted two assists, three hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Mammoth. Wotherspoon last posted a multi-point effort Jan. 3 versus the Red Wings. The defenseman has three helpers over his last four games, but offense hasn't been a major factor in his play this season, which has been steady enough to command top-four minutes. Wotherspoon is at 22 points, 59 shots on net, 137 hits, 99 blocked shots, 42 PIM and a plus-10 rating over 66 appearances and has often skated alongside Erik Karlsson at even strength.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Finds twine early in win

Wotherspoon scored a goal and added three hits in Monday's 6-3 win over the Kraken. Wotherspoon ended a seven-game point drought with the tally. It was his first goal since Nov. 16 versus the Predators, and he earned eight helpers over the 28 contests in between goals. The 28-year-old defenseman is still having a career year with three goals, 13 assists, 46 shots on net, 97 hits, 74 blocked shots, 34 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 48 outings in a top-four role.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Three-game, four-assist streak

Wotherspoon delivered two assists in a 4-1 win over Detroit on Saturday. Wotherspoon is on a modest three-game, four-assist scoring streak. He has five helpers in his last five outings. He has registered two goals, 15 assists, 38 shots on net and 79 hits in 40 appearances this season. That puts the 28-year-old journeyman defender on pace for a 30-point, 160-hit campaign. Wotherspoon could help in deeper fantasy formats.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Nets opening goal

Wotherspoon scored a goal, put two shots on net, served two PIM and dished out three hits in Sunday's 4-0 win over Nashville. Wotherspoon lit the lamp at 2:19 of the first period, which gave the Penguins the only goal they would need to secure Sunday's Global Series game in Sweden. Overall, the 28-year-old blueliner is up to two goals, seven points, 29 hits and 28 blocks through 19 appearances this season. Wotherspoon's first season with the Penguins is well above the pace he needs to set new career highs in many major stat categories. He has been a staple in a top-pairing role for Pittsburgh alongside Erik Karlsson, giving Wotherspoon the chance to find his name on the fantasy radar in certain formats this season.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Pots first goal of season

Wotherspoon scored his first goal of the season on his only shot on net and added three blocked shots and a plus-4 rating in Monday's 6-3 win over the Blues. It's only the second goal of Wotherspoon's career, with the other coming Jan. 14 of last season when he was with the Bruins. After signing a modest one-year, $2 million contract with the Penguins in free agency this offseason, the 28-year-old blueliner has clicked on a pairing with Erik Karlsson, producing five points, 16 blocked shots, nine shots on net, eight hits, eight PIM and a plus-7 rating in 10 games.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Registers helper in loss

Wotherspoon logged an assist and three hits in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Senators. Wotherspoon has a clear path to playing time for the remainder of the regular season. Hampus Lindholm (kneecap) and Charlie McAvoy (shoulder) are unlikely to return, while Jordan Oesterle was waived and claimed by the Predators and Brandon Carlo was dealt to the Maple Leafs. With three helpers over his last eight games, Wotherspoon has started to make a small impact on offense. He's at just five points, 32 shots on net, 55 hits, 51 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating across 40 appearances. Even with a regular role in the lineup, he's on the third pairing and offers little to no appeal to fantasy managers.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Sticking in lineup for now

Wotherspoon has played in both of the Bruins' games since the 4 Nations Face-Off. Wotherspoon was losing playing time to begin February, but Charlie McAvoy (shoulder) was hurt during the international tournament, opening up a new path to playing time. The 27-year-old Wotherspoon went a ninth straight game without a point in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs, and if he continues to struggle, he could lose playing time to Jordan Oesterle. For the season, Wotherspoon has two points, 27 shots on net, 43 hits, 41 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating across 32 appearances.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Tallies helper Tuesday

Wotherspoon registered an assist and two blocked shots during Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals. Wotherspoon's dump in took an odd bounce that Justin Brazeau deposited for Boston's only goal of the game. The 27-year-old has managed the one helper in 18 games to start the season and has yet to establish any significant fantasy value.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Grabs rare point

Wotherspoon logged an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and five PIM in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime win over the Oilers. Wotherspoon had an eventful second period, fighting Corey Perry and then helping out on a Jake DeBrusk tally after the penalty expired. The 26-year-old Wotherspoon could be in the lineup for the rest of the Bruins' road trip, as Hampus Lindholm (undisclosed) is not traveling with the team and Matt Grzelcyk (lower body) was injured Wednesday. Wotherspoon has four helpers, 17 shots on net, 18 PIM, 52 hits and 45 blocked shots through 24 outings, so he's unlikely to be very useful in fantasy.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Returns to minors

Wotherspoon was reassigned to AHL Providence on Wednesday, according to Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal. Wotherspoon has a goal and five points in 19 contests with Providence this season. He's also registered two assists in 10 games with Boston. The 26-year-old was a healthy scratch for Tuesday's 4-1 win over Columbus.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Back with big club

Wotherspoon was recalled by the Bruins on Wednesday. Wotherspoon is expected to skate on the third pairing during Wednesday's matchup with the Sabres. The 26-year-old defender has picked up one assist through eight top-level appearances this year.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Called up again

Wotherspoon was called up from AHL Providence on Wednesday, per CapFriendly. Wotherspoon was sent down Tuesday in a paper move. He'll likely be on the third pairing Thursday versus the Islanders unless Derek Forbort (lower body) returns to action.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Sent down Tuesday

Wotherspoon was reassigned to AHL Providence on Tuesday, per CapFriendly. Wotherspoon has an assist in three NHL games this season, and he's added six blocked shots and four hits. It's possible Derek Forbort (lower body) could be ready for Thursday's game versus the Islanders, but the Bruins will still need to call up at least one defenseman for that contest.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Waived Tuesday

Wotherspoon was placed on waivers Tuesday, Chris Johnston of TSN reports. Wotherspoon contributed one assist, seven blocked shots and eight hits in 12 games with the Islanders last season. He also recorded one goal and 12 points in 27 AHL contests with Bridgeport during the 2022-23 campaign. If he clears, the 26-year-old defender will report to AHL Providence.

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Heading to Boston

Wotherspoon signed a one-year, two-way contract with Boston on Saturday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports. Wotherspoon had one assist, seven blocked shots and eight hits in 12 games with the Islanders last season. He also collected 12 points in 27 AHL contests with Bridgeport during the 2022-23 campaign. Wotherspoon will probably report to the minors for the start of next season.

  • Islanders' Parker Wotherspoon: Stapled to the bench

Wotherspoon has been a healthy scratch for 17 straight games. The Islanders are in a battle for one of the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference, which hasn't allowed any room for a rookie defenseman to have any on-the-job training. The fact that the team doesn't seem to mind keeping Wotherspoon wasting away in the press box rather than playing in the AHL might tell you all you need to know about how they feel about his future. He would be playing somewhere if he were a top prospect for the organization.
