  • Noel Hoefenmayer: Heading to KHL

Hoefenmayer signed a one-year contract with KHL Sochi on Friday, per Tony Androckitis of Inside AHL Hockey. Hoefenmayer had five goals and 21 points across 43 regular-season AHL appearances between Bakersfield and Laval in 2024-25. The 26-year-old defenseman hasn't appeared in an NHL game. Hoefenmayer was an unrestricted free agent this summer after Montreal declined to present him with a qualifying offer.

  • Canadiens' Noel Hoefenmayer: Dealt to Montreal

Hoefenmayer was traded from the Oilers to the Canadiens on Friday in exchange for Jacob Perreault. Hoefenmayer signed a two-way contract with the Oilers in July, but he hasn't yet made his NHL debut this season. He's made 11 appearances for AHL Bakersfield to begin the year, racking up a goal and seven points. He'll now be in line for a change of scenery, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him spend most or all of the season in the minors.

  • Oilers' Noel Hoefenmayer: Inks two-way contract

Hoefenmayer signed a one-year, two-way contract with Edmonton on Monday. Hoefenmayer produced seven goals, 18 points and 64 PIM in 47 regular-season contests for AHL Bakersfield in 2023-24. The 25-year-old blueliner doesn't have any NHL experience yet. Hoefenmayer will likely spend most, if not all, of the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.
