The season hasn't started yet but it looks like Washington State coach Mike Leach has suffered his first loss of 2013.

Judge Bill Sowder ruled against Leach on Wednesday in lawsuits he filed against ESPN, Craig James and a public relations firm relating to his dismissal from Texas Tech in December 2009. The decision was announced in a one-page ruling that simply read "The Court grants each of the Defendant's Motions for Summary Judgment."

Sowder is the same judge who dismissed Leach's lawsuit against Texas Tech in February 2012.

According to the Associated Press, Leach's lawyer Stephen Heninger said Leach would appeal the latest decision.

Leach filed the lawsuit against ESPN, James and Spaeth Communications alleging libel and slander in the way Leach's alleged mishandling of Adam James - a Texas Tech tight end and Craig James' son -- following a concussion.

"It is great news today for us and our family," Craig James told the Associated Press. "Quite honestly we expected this result because we always knew the truth would prevail."
