Athletics' Ramon Laureano: Undergoes core surgery

Laureano (suspension) underwent core surgery to address a sports hernia Thursday.

The surgery reportedly went well, and Laureano is expected to be ready for the start of spring training. He'll have some extra time to get up to full speed, however, as he'll miss approximately the first month of the season while finishing up a performance-enhancing drug suspension.
