Cubs' Edgar Olmos: Claimed by Cubs

Olmos was claimed off waivers by the Cubs on Wednesday, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

To clear room on the roster for Olmos, the Cubs released the recently acquired Brendan Ryan on Wednesday. Olmos has bounced around several organizations this offseason, including the Mariners, Cubs, Orioles, and now the Cubs once again. He'll be one of many pitchers vying for a spot in the Cubs' bullpen in spring training.
