Cubs' Mark Leiter: DFA'd by Cubs

Leiter was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Friday.

The team needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Eric Hosmer. Leiter had a solid 2022 season, posting a 3.99 ERA and 73:25 K:BB over 67.2 innings while picking up three saves along the way. There might be some interest in him on waivers.
